• FROM THE EDITOR: Regulation of Fans, Blowers Comes to U.S 
• Dawn of a New Era: The Regulation of Commercial and Industrial Fans and Blowers—In a long-anticipated but no less monumental development, regulation has come to the U.S. market for commercial and industrial fans and blowers. Where a federal test procedure and energy standard and a California efficiency regulation stand and where they likely are headed. 
• U.S. Regulations for Air-Circulating Fans—The U.S. Department of Energy in 2022 and 2023 published final rules updating the federal test procedure for ceiling fans and establishing a new federal test procedure for air-circulating fans that are not ceiling fans. We take a look at the scope and essential provisions of the two regulations and provide guidance on distinguishing compliant fans from noncompliant ones. 
• Maintaining Indoor-Air Quality with Air Curtains—Experiments show air curtains are effective in both disinfecting building air and preventing the infiltration of airborne particulates.
